in
Český Těšín, in the Czech Republic
The
Grammar school in Český Těšín is one of the four schools involved in the
international programme called Comenius. There are other countries as Turkey,
Poland and as well as Bulgaria. The main idea of this project is “ Culture,
Indicator of the Nations Assets“. The two friendly visits took place in Turkey
( October 2011) and in Poland ( June 2012). The week from 7th to 12th October
2012 belonged to the Czech Republic and primarily the Grammar ( secondary)
school in Český Těšín to host participants best, make up the programme for all
visitors to feel well and show them round not only our capital city Prague, but
also further surroundings, mainly the town called Český Těšín.
Sunday:
7th October 2012
On Sunday 7th October 2012 our small Czech
delegation went to Prague to welcome the other participants of the
international project called Comenius. We were accommodated at the dormitory
Volha in Prague where we welcomed the first participants and other
international groups that were progressively coming to Volha during that day.
This reunion made us happy and we were full of great experiences from the last
meetings in Turkey and Poland that we shared with our international friends. Furthermore,
some students joined to the project Comenius at the first time, so we had an opportunity
to make new friends.
Monday:
8th October 2012
Our main aim was to visit the amazing Prague
Castle, next early morning and other interesting Prague’s places. Despite of a
long and tiring way to the castle we were satisfied at all. In addition to
unbelievable view of St. Vitus Cathedral, we saw for example a changing of the guards or the Golden
Lane.
After that we went across the Charles Bridge
towards the Astronomical clock which is located in the Old Town Square. At 12
o’clock we joined to other people who admired one of the symbols of Prague in
action.
We had lunch in a restaurant called U Pinkasů. The
lunch was a typical Czech meal - sirloin with dumplings. The restaurant U
Pinkasů is located closed to Wenceslas Square and
had a pleasant
athmosphere.
In the late afternoon we set out from the Main
Railway Station in Prague to Český Těšín where is our school located by train
called Regiojet. During the back journey
to Český Těšín we had lots of time to talk to our international friends and let
them know about the programme Comenius in the Czech Republic.
Tuesday:
9th October 2012
Tuesday was the second day of staying of foreign
visitors at our high school. It was very important since it, there was the
first time for foreigners to visit our school. The Deputy Director Mr Duda
at the opening ceremony in the school auditorium welcomed all participants (
headmasters, teachers, students) from Bulgaria, Turkey and Poland, and also
briefly outlined the programme of the next few days. After that the students of
the fourth year of graduation talked the
English presentation about Český Těšín. There was also a very interesting short
theatrical scene about establishing of
Český Těšín, it was known as the legend of the three brothers: Bolkovi, Leškovi
and Těškovi. Then our students demonstrated the English-language debate on the
theme of women's rights. Furthermore, the official visit of the Town hall
followed where the mayor Mr Vít Slováček welcomed all participants of Comenius
project. The singing choir of the Grammar school in Český Těšín contributed to
the ceremonial atmosphere.
After
lunch at school canteen there was the walking excursion through Český and
Polský Těšín. The rest of the afternoon all foreign groups examed their own
theatre performances called “ Equal position of women and men in modern
society“.
Wednesday:
10th October 2012
The Wednesday
morning was much richer than Tuesday 's because the next morning we visited the House Care called Radost in Třinec. The
aim of this visit was to show to foreigners what kind of care for people with mental and
physical disabilities provides the Czech Republic. At the same time, we were
amazed how handicaped persons are skilled and
talented. When participants received this very instructive lesson, we went
to visit the local town Karviná Fryštát Chateau. Followed by a tour of the
Interior of the Castle in which the
students of our school tested the interpretation from Czech into English language. About two o'clock in the afternoon we were
having lunch. The main programme of
being in the Czech Republic were the theatre performances very well prepared
and especially instructive. The
afternoon, which was very crowded, and exhaustived followed by the rest in the form
of excellent dinner in the school
canteen. Then in aula there was teaching
of students from foreign countries our traditional dance "polka
rhythms". We enjoyed really
very fun. What was a dance
evening without discos? Of course we are "sealed the biggest party
together". Perhaps for the first time in history of our school there has
seen real disco lights, smoke and DJ.
The whole action took place in the school auditorium transformed into
unrecognizable room.
It was really very nice, we could stay
together and be together just a little closer. It seems that the best way to
rapprochement is fun, music and dance. When we asked some students how they
like it here, they mostly responded: " We will remember this school in a
good way, for the long time!"
Thursday:
11th October 2012
After Comenius party it was quite hard to wake up. We had to be at school at 7:30 a.m. The sad part of this day was that we had to say goodbye to the Bulgarians. After that we started our trip. We went to Roznov pod Radhostem where we saw the Wooden town. Furthermore, we went to town Karolinka where we were visitors of a glass factory. Then we visited the Basic ( elementary) school in Velké Karlovice where all students played table tenis and table soccer and meanwhile all headmasters and teachers were invited to the elementary headmaster ´s and all participants disscussed the school issues in each country. The best part of this day was Banquet in a traditional pub called Raťkovský šenk. There was the performance of the Folk dancing group from the Elementary school, from Velké Karlovice. The rest of the afternoon was fulled by dancing, singing, eating typical Walachien food and enjoying relaxed atmosphere.

Friday: 12th October 2012
Friday was the last day of the project Comenius in the Czech Republic. In the morning at five o´clock the Turkish friends came back to Turkey. We said goodbye and carried on further in the programme. At seven in the morning in front of our school there was waiting the bus for other participants to go to the last trip with the Polish friends. We set out to the excursion into the car factory called Hyundai in Nošovice where we could see how Hyundai cars are made. After two-hour visit we arrived in Ostrava. The new shopping centre called Forum Nová Karolina was the last place where each person spent his time according to himself.
In the late afternoon there was the time to
say goodbye to Polish friends and it was all over.
The week of the international project Comenius
in the Czech Republic was being over which was the full of mutual
understanding, enthusiasm and successful realization of in advance given goals
by all foreign participants who were not only headmasters and teachers, but
mainly students from all participating countries.
